Working with Inbox

Inbox ensures that you are always up-to-date with changes happening in the projects and tasks you are involved in. It displays updates related to the  internal (Everhour created) projects you are a member of and their tasks you collaborate on. 

How to turn on and off Inbox

By default, Inbox is enabled only for users who have active internal projects. If your team would like to enable or disable the Inbox feature, an admin can easily do so by navigating to Settings > Apps. Once enabled, you can access Inbox from the left sidebar.

How Inbox Works

The Inbox consists of two main tabs: All and Archive.

In the New tab, you’ll receive notifications for specific actions that occur in projects and tasks you are involved in. You’ll see notifications when:

  • A new project is created and you were added to it;
  • A project you are a member of has new tasks added to it;
  • A task is completed;
  • A task is reopened;
  • A task due date is changed;
  • A task is assigned to you;
  • A task is unassigned from you;
  • A task you are collaborating on has new comments;
  • A task you are collaborating on is marked complete;

One important detail to note is that Inbox will only show notifications for actions performed by others. You won’t receive notifications for actions that you perform yourself.

Once you’ve reviewed or taken action on a notification in the New tab, you can archive it. When archived, it moves to the Archive tab, where you can revisit past notifications. If there’s any older notification you want to act on again, you can easily move it back to the New tab.
