If you use Trello as a project management tool, you can easily integrate it with Everhour and start tracking time for all your Trello cards on our website or right inside Trello interface with the help of our browser extension.
How to connect
There are 2 ways to connect Trello to Everhour.
First, you can connect your account during signup.
Second, you can connect Trello later in your account settings. Click on your avatar in the upper right corner, then on Account, and choose Integrations.
What’s get connected
When you connect Trello, Everhour will sync all your boards across all teams and cards that belong to these boards.
Sync happens periodically and automatically, so all new boards that you create in Trello will be automatically added to your Everhour account. Everhour also changes the names of cards or boards, if they were renamed in Trello.
When you create a new board, you will see a message saying We can’t find this board in our database. Please sync it first. It means you need to click on a sync button to be able to start tracking time and see other options in a board.
As mentioned, Everhour does not connect Boards that do not belong to the team. We think this might confuse other members who could see your activity, leaving alone high chance to make a mistake in reports that should not include your personal stuff.
So, if you wanna time track a card, make sure it belongs to a board under a team.
We don’t connect with archived projects. The reason is that we no longer see such project connected to Everhour, so time entries from it disappear from your Time page but remain in reports for team admins.
Browser extension and embedded timer
To see the embedded timer in your Trello and track time there, you need to (i) connect this account with Everhour and (ii) make sure you have our browser extension installed.
Total time and estimate labels show up on a card, project and board levels.
You can Start/Stop/Continue timer from your card details. Reported timer will return to zero next day. Estimate and Remaining time are at your disposal here.
Add your and colleagues hours manually if you forgot to start timer before. Explain your progress with notes.
Edit your past time entries to correct the mistake.
The board can also show you the project budget as a sum of money or hours.
Information available in reports
Everhour allows to see the following attributes that you use in Trello:
- Label. Each card may have a label, and you can group and filter reported time by these labels.
- Task Number is a unique number of Trello card with a hyperlink to card details in a management tool.
- Workspace groups time by Trello team.
- Task status shows the actual state of your card (open, closed).
- Custom fields can be added as a separate column.
If you wish to disable Trello integration, then select Integrations and choose Connected Apps. After that click on the Disable. You will stop integration for your account, but for the rest of the team the sync will happen as usual.
